Hey guys

So I've decided to start investing in Western Digital 3TB Caviar Green 64mb cache hard drives from this week coming. Moving from 1,1.5 and 2TB hdd's.

I'd like to know if there might be anything I should know when installing them, if I should do anything special in the way of initializing them, or if I can just create a new volume, format to NTFS, and all 2.7TB will be available.

Specs are in my sig, I can't see why there should be any issues. I know that my sunix sata 4000 add on card will probably not support drives over 2TB (currently have 4 x 2's there so that's ok), but there shouldn't be any problems installing 8 3TB's onto the boards 9 sata ports leaving 1 open for the OS drive correct?

Eek. 8 x 3TB Wow. You either have a lot of *cough* movies to store, or one heck of an mp3 collection :-)

Just a note, you can't boot from a GPT partition if you are running Win 7 32-bit, only 64-bit will boot off a GPT partition. But you're only using it for storage so no worries.
