4 Mbps ADSL here!

Indeed. I'm sure at some point Telkom will address the capping issue. I'm certain that even they cannot possibly support finishing your cap in 3 1/2 minutes or whatever it is with 4mb :D

I'm getting 400+ KB/s international. A meg in about 2.5 seconds :)

Loving it!

The way the article reads is that 4Mbps is here to stay. I thought it was a trial?????? Have I missed something?

Make sure you know how to 'top up' your bandwidth beeetches :D

ok, I'm just jealous :o
3 gigs is a huge huge huge problem though.

If the trial is a succes Telkom said it would be here to stay at the same price...

Its a 6 month trial according to Teskommel. Its unlikely they will reverse it though.

Sounds good but just not good enough, the most important part- international connectivity being slow is a worrying factor. The only thing they're worried about is local speeds, because they need the speed for their Triple play and IPTV services. Again, they seem to be missing the mark, but at least it's a step in the right direction.

yup, even with the hsdpa improvement to come(3.5Mbps) the max will be slower.

I've found in some quick test yesterday that if you dont use a dl manager international is not so fast , I used Free download manager and only once I started making more than 5 connections the speed really started to increase and I eventualy got 430KB/s using 10 connections .

this is just not fair,,, iv got 1024kbps. but im not running at 4mbps.. :( :( . yet hopefully soon i hope

yep, the "international speed tests" is really a waste of effort. rather get Download Accelerator or something, you will get serious speed out of your line then :)
