4 Mbps ADSL Shootout

I'm thinking of upgrading to 4Mbps but not sure on whether it's worth it or not at the moment...

I don't really see the point if combined with a 3gb cap. Unless "I can kill my cap in 100 minutes" counts as bragging rights.

I think i would rather have 384kbps with 10Gig for R599...

So whats to stop someone with a 4gig line from renting 10 gig 384kbps for R599... will it only run at 384kbps?
If they won't rent it to you, get your mate with a 384 line to rent it for you...
am I being stupid here?
Oh - I see - this is DSL complete - not available to the long term ADSL users.

LOL, I would hardly call 4Mb/s - 3GB Cap a shootout contest. More like "who spykers the consumer the least"

nothing like seeing downloads fly down. and if you know where to look, the 4mb speed can come in quite handy locally.

most recent speed tests found an average of about 750kps for the Telkom 4mbs adsl - that's terrible. I would never go for it. I'll stick with 384.

It also proves what I said previously, even though it makes no sense at all, Telkom's products are structured in such a way that most people choose the cheapest option and theirs no incentive to go higher even if they can afford it.

You can get a 10GB SAIX account for your 4MB line for R490...

the 750kbps is probably related to general browsing. I can assure you that most myadsl 4mbps users can get close to 4mbps on downloads.

The big surprise here is that Nashua Mobile is offering UNSHAPED bandwidth affordably in relation to the rest! What gives!?

It was the same with the lower speeds. And Nashua mobile are offering decent unshaped - Verizon...

Not sure how they do it.

I see this comparison as going to bed with a absolutely stunning girl and being way too excited and it's all is over within 3 Seconds. ;-).

Proudly South African (*cough* Telcrap *cough*) narrowband.
