I think overall the 9800GTX+ is slightly faster.
However it uses more power and runs a little hotter IIRC.
They're both great cards on par with each other, I'd go for what ever is cheaper.

-Cheaper (R2300 Inno3D 9800GTX+ as opposed to R2800 HIS HD4850).
-More powerful.
-Achieves better results in benchmarks against the HD4850 in all games and equal results in other games.
-Has no overheating problems.
-Inno3D and eVGA versions only require a single 6-pin PCI-E connector while ALL HD4850 cards require two. Uses more power though.
-All cards carry excellent cooling solutions.

Okie couple of points that you are talking absolute rubbish about :
1st i am sitting with a 4850 in front of me and low and behold only 1 6 pin pci-e cable needed (oops sorry for you)
2nd i love how you say in all games and then equal results in some games.
Fanboi study your facts before making a fool of yourself.
If planning on going cf then obviously get the 4850 if sli then the 98 if never doubling up then both cards are great buys.
Check out Tomshardware for comparisions and make your own choice
p.s. all pricing i see is roughly the same between the 2

Yeah, but GeCube and Force3D are the cards with overheating issues. If you get an HD4850, then the HIS IceQ card is the best option and that is R2800 and requires 2 6-pin connectors.

Besides, I really don't think the 9800GTX+ has the power to use some of it's inerds for GPU + PhysX.

AFAIK most higher-end cards come with a molex-to-6 pin converter any way...
Dude, I did do research. I was in the same predicament less than a month ago. Go and ask Henk Keuris, the owner of Prophecy, and he will tell you, as he did me, that it requires 2/TWO/DOS/二/に - Any more languages?
