Dont lose any sleep about it.
The ipad 3 is still a fantastic device and the 21Mbps HSPA+ built-in modem is not too shabby.
43Mbps HSPA-DC
Saw 26Mb/s on speedtest.net last time I tested.

Probably VC's pilot LTE network...On which provider was that?
If it's jannievanzyl then I guess it will have to be Vodacom's.On which provider was that?

3G is so yesterday.... bring on LTE!Nope, the normal 3G network running at 43Mb/s.
We've already got more than 3000 43Mb/s towers around the country.

LTE is 3G
3.75 ? ....
That's why I mock...3.9G actually (whatever that means - marketing types running amok, as per usual)
HSPA is 3.75G supposedly.
How the 'ell can one have a 3.75th generation? Crazy.....
Don't blame our network operators for the lack of LTE retail networks in South Africa....Vodacom has LTE in Zambia since jan 2012.

Sell me a product with defined min/max speeds, etc. and not a technology or definition.
Actually the Verizon model also supports GSM/EDGE. From the tech specs page:Local ipad 3 comes with LTE chips too.. its just that theyre useless at the moment...
The New iPad baisically has 2 versions of cellular wireless... ONLY 2
1 - GSM (AT&T) unit that supports most of the world and includes the LTE Chip for "4G" Speeds (This is the one compatible to our 3G HSPA+ etc..
2 - CDMA (Verizon) That supports CDMA networks and includes the LTE Chip for "4G" too (Not compatible in SA except maybe on Neotel... but i doubt they want the money...)
Still the same chip inside.But...we are not in North America?
The LTE chip has been replaced with a HSPA+ (3G) modem for most of the European and African countries, as far as I know.
So you got conned by Core into believing that your ipad has got 4G onboard?
