Ummmm thats a different argument, and not entirely valid anymore. I average 40mbps at home which is MORE than enough for 4K content.
 
Saying that I’m still with a 720p TV.

But I honestly don’t see the need of changing until this one dies, surprisingly it’s one of the fine things in life I couldn’t care less about.

I Have FHD at home, and yes I want 4K but there is no reason to upgrade until my current TV pops its clogs.
 
I switched from FHD to 4K a few months ago & there's a huge difference in picture quality with the exact same content. The day I got it, I tested it with whatever 180p & 720p movies I had on-hand...
 
Regardless of content if you on the market for a TV it would only make sense to go for UHD to future proof your purchase and also benefit from the up scaling of FHD. The larger the adoption the more content will be made available.

True, but as GiftiggeHasie said, no need to upgrade until it pops.
 
BUT .... 4k/UHD TVs are ONLY available in the larger screen sizes ..... Way beyond what makes sense in my Lounge. The basics still apply ....

And yes I finally had to go out and buy a new TV last Friday because the last analogue Tv in my home packed up and defied all my attempts to get spares to fix it ..

So I settled for a FHD TV that fits into my furniture and lounge 40".
 
Obviously, when my (I think) 7 year old 720p breaks, I’ll go for a 4k.

I’m not a fervent defender of keeping old technology in place for the sake of it. I gladly admit that I prefer a bluray to a Betamax.

I have an old 1080p TV and my reasons to stick with it were much the same. Until I realised, if I gave my parents that one, I could splash out :D So I did \ :D /
