4mb adsl got upgraded to 5mb!

Hmm my noise margin jumped quite high today than usual

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 5120 kbps 512 kbps
Line Attenuation 6.0 db 5.5 db
Noise Margin 33.9 db 28.0 db

Mine also jumped a bit yesterday:

SNR Margin (dB): 32.7 27.0
Attenuation (dB): 6.5 6.5

DS speeds here also at 5119Kb/s but speeds are not exceeding standard 4Meg

Syncing at 5mb on a 4mb line this week after they switched to a new MSAN. Speed tests still give 3.5mb results while P2P just broke over 400kb whereas before they ceilinged at 399kb/s.

Will see how my 10mb request goes with Afrihost tomorrow.

On my 4Meg it was 425KB/s flat before ASSIA, now its is 375-450KB/s unstable after ASSIA on "5Meg". On desktop speed meter it was showing 3400kbps flat, now it says 3300kbps flat.

It's very annoying when it struggles on 720p60 youtube videos, yet it never happened before. Besides increased ping, now a new feature appeared: "Err::Name_Not_Resolved" issues in games and infrequent timeouts on page loads.

It seems, user lines are "soft capped" (as opposed hard capped by sync rate) @ 3500kbps on 4Mbit exchanges, no matter of sync rate.

.

Yup, the latency has gone up too, so trying to browse streamed channels is painful, and the amount of failure and buffering has increased dramatically
