I just upgraded from a 384k line to a 4Mb line and had photonman increase my upload speed to 640kb from 384 and my router keeps losing sync every few minutes.

Any suggestions on what I can do? This never happened with my 384k line..

this use to happen to me coz i was too far from the exchage , so they put it as high as they could where it would be stable , they put me to a 2048(2mb) line

You have to ask Photonman to lower the upload speed ;) I'd rather wait for Telscum to roll out the new upload speeds than to do it the way you okes have.

Well there's an exchange down the road from me, a few hundred metres or so.
Are you sure that is where your dslam is located?

For years mine was steady then within the last few months I had to be downgraded first to 2mb and now 1mb due to sync issues.

Yeah I think I'll do that. Maybe I'll just wait a day or 2 to see if the problem sorts itself out, if not then I'll just revert back to 384k upload speeds.

Nope, not sure at all really. All I know is that there's a Telkom exchange nearby and I'm just assuming that's where I connect to.

you might have a faulty line , log a fault

My line has been perfectly fine for over a year now, it's only now (after thae upgrade) that it on occasion loses sync.

that happend to me , i had to downgrade to a 2mb line to keep it stable , it could just be some bad weather? but i dont think its that , request telkom to send a adsl specialist
