Gamco & Iburst's tests are useless

It was stable 2 weeks ago, now it's very unstable getting speeds of anywhere between 150-380 depending on the server

Well that sucks then in that case...

Anyone else out there that can share their experiences?

Interesting...Cape Town still seems to be ok. And that is the word that I got when i called Telkom...

Im still on 4Mbit, if they move me back im gonna go break the windows of the Cape Gate Telkom office with a brick.

4mbit my ass.
downloading from EA download server @ 4KB/s

lovely, as bad as dailup

4Mbps

I have just had my speed increased from 3072 to 4096.

I had requested the speed reduction a few days ago in an attempt to reduce LCP Downs and loss of synch, but having read in this forum about internal connections affecting performance, I connected the input line directly into the DG834G v3 instead of using its filter/splitter. Since doing that, no loss of synch and no LCP Down.

As usual I will remain optimistic that a problem has been solved until it happens again!

Although it is set for 4096, I am only synching at 4000.

Download speeds are ±2Mbps
Pings to google.com are 50% higher than usual
Local pings are 2 - 3 ms worse than usual with packet loss

It appears that there is congestion somewhere. Any one else having these problems?
