Is there a splitter box to split the audio from a laptop to 5 Headphones? Will this be an impedance problem?

thx in advance guys

Impedance could certainly be a problem if 5 sets are simply paralleled. Generally the power amp driving the headphone output will go into current limiting and hence distort at low volume. You may also lose bass depending on the electronic design of the laptop circuitry.

Music shops sell headphone amplifiers that actually have a separate power amp driving each output with an individual volume control.

The inputs of 2 4-way amps could be paralleled for 8 outputs or very, very likely you will be able to drive 2 headphones from 1 output. The ART HeadAMP has minijack and 1/4" jack outputs for each channel so it probably feeds both simultaneously.

I hope this style of solution is not beyond your budget.

Hi Guys
