Yup, I'm running 2 Sims on 2 devices. My LTE contract is up for renewal and price dropped down to R525.. I don't want add or alter the current deal or give telkom reason to renew my contract without consent.

I'm doing the same. The uncapped LTE is for streaming, browsing etc. The sim with the 500GB is in a mifi device connect to a HTPC. With a bit routing magic the HTPC downloads from 01:00 to 06:00 and share it on the home network.
And the deal is still in the option list this morning.

I did a test last night to see what time my downloads will start, switched on router at 23:45 and downloads started 00:02. So not bad.. And my downloads stopped closer to 8..pulled 91GB
Having this 2nd sim will help out a lot but I might need to recharge twice a month with all the 4k movies being released..

Where do you get 4k movies? Did 51gb this morning. Till 6am. Couldn't get well seeded 4k movies.

also i use a service called filestream.. its like a seedbox.. i download to that system and pull via http.. maxes out speed..
So last night set the downloads with the 500GB night surfer sim only to find the connection being throttled, can't get above 10Mb.
Test with my uncapped Lte device, getting triple the speeds.. Can't be tower congestion as I tested with 2 different devices.
Played around moving from 1800mhz to 2300mhz, same speed.
So there you have it, throttling!!!

Well, I went into my telkom branch today to renew my R50 for 500G nightsurfer and was told it has now officially been stopped..... Bugger....
No it hasn't, I can still buy it?

I don't understand why they throttle this.
Most telkom branch staff dont even know what products they sell.. they get shocked when they see it available on their system

^ This! And even if the products are on their systems, they are even more clueless. Telkom really need to invest more in training and educating their consultants (and call centre staff) on their products, especially if there are new products coming down the pipeline, as well as which products are being phased out.

Guys is this deal really over???????? I mean im hardly using it like i was 3 months back but bloody hell it's convienent for staying up-to-date on series, Movies Sports. I don't want to go back to watching shows on TV, especially since i ****ed off my DSTV premium account last year.
