With the launch of the 3rd Generation iPad, Apple has increased the over-the-air download limit for the App Store to 50MB, up from 20MB.
It's getting there.
My friend downloads 300+MB files on his stupid BlackBerry
Awesome to have a friend. I know the feeling

Wait can someone please explain this to me? I just won an iPad recently and have no idea what this limit thing means.
You'll now be able to download an App no bigger than 50MB via 3G. If the App is greater than 50MB, you can only download it via WiFi.
It's a silly limit but not one I've yet to actually experience since it seems to only apply to downloading apps from the app store.
It's also a way for Apple to force developers to reduce unnecessary bloat,
Oh - no longer to protect the networks?
Too true; inconsistent. At least the increase helps some what. It's to save the network from degrading and choking from too much data ....
However you're more than able to go to Newstand and get yourself a 500MB magazine on 3G
Logic fail? :/
