R800 and it comes with a negative scanner? Sweet - how long is the special on for?
 
The quality on those pics are pretty damn good.

bwana what exactly do you mean it scans negatives? Sorry I'm a total newbie when it comes to photography stuff. "o

Negatives, as in the small (brown/black, dark) photo thingie's which gets printed out when photos are developed ;) :D :p

I know what negatives are dude :) :D, just didn't think you guys were talking about those actual negative strips :eek:. How does it get the image from the negative? Is there somewhere on the scanner you feed it in?

Yeah - I'm not sure how this model works but generally it requires a tray for the film and some sort of backlighting.

Going to have a look tomorrow and see if they have locally. So any details 56kMan?

Still plenty of film around still and I've got loads of old negatives that I wouldnt mind digitising.

Ken Rockwell - of the megapixel myth fame - says that 35mm film is roughtly the equivalent of about 25 megapixels - that sort of digital camera is out of reach for most consumers.

And film has a superior dynamic range.
 
What model is it? I might as well check to see if its mac compatible before I get all excited about it.
