Now that makes you feel so much better about our police force. Wonder how many of them knows how to handle a gun correctly and know the laws of this country

Have you seen the weight of some of these police officers?!! They will never make it up a hill, and the frames will ahve to be reinforced!

Seriously though, it all boils down to having the right qualifications for the job. Did these coppers go through training? Maybe driver training should have been apart of it. Bleh, I state the obvious so rather just /rant off

Highly doubt it. They can always be paired with a valid driver
But I agree that it should be made mandatory(sp?)

Yes it is .. but the training is roughly 2 yrs before they are positioned in the service so I would imagine some figured they'd just get it during that period. They probably should be fired! ... but on the other hand with the traffic departments like they are today and all the delays (its a disaster) I can't really blame them. The uptakes are about 400 members at a time. We'd probably have no police department and recruits if they were that strict.
It is kinda shocking that they are given service vehicles though

Actually in the old days, a policeman would do his drivers during police college. Also they would normally come out with a much higher driver rating than normal ( code 10 or 12 for the old schoolers
) due to having to be able to drive the old Casper and nyala's.gpe

because of the branding on the side of the vans .. & .. the 'B' number plate ?? they don't use their own vehicles ..
They wreck them on purpose since there is no repair done to vehicles and if the engine/tires go bang they get replaced (entire vehicle; SAPS has weird vehicle contract) which is why they drive terribly on purpose! lol .. Some of them
