Just to double-check when you say 5G device, you mean your own router? My current phone works perfectly fine on MTN 5G, not sure which bands Rain use though, but it does sound like you guys lock it down to specific hardware.
Hi, yes only with the rain 5G routerJust to double-check when you say 5G device, you mean your own router? My current phone works perfectly fine on MTN 5G, not sure which bands Rain use though, but it does sound like you guys lock it down to specific hardware.
Can't you copy the settings from the router onto your phone?
It's quite a pity maybe they should make a R300 5G phone option.No it doesn't work.
It catches coverage but the internet is blocked. You get the "You are offline" Rain page saying you are suspended or using the incorrect device.

They can even keep the current plan but just allow 5G connection. Modify the plan a bit to allow 20 or 30GB hotspot data when on 5G only and bump the streaming quality to 720p when on 5G.
This will be epic. It off loads some of the network traffic on to their 5G network to ease congestion on their 4G network.
5G phones are starting to get cheaper now and the first 5G flagship devices will start to filer through into the second hand market so the uptake is there why not malke the most of it? I mean Rain has the most 5G coverage in SA currently not sure how rapidly Vodacom and MTN is expanding.
