619 Errors

@V3G
SO u say that in alot of cases it can be hardware related(the 619)
I got 619 error the whole day y-day, and could not connect to wap on phone either. Where is the hardware error there(3diff phones)

I had the same thing yesterday, I could only connect for the first time late last night.

I've also had a similar issue, on HSDPA I can't connect, just get 619 errors constantly, when I switch to GPRS it connects perfectly, first time and is perfectly stable. Is the an Issue on the network in durban possibly?

I'm saying it can be anything in the path and the fact that a reboot often 'cures' the 619 indicates an instability on the client side and it's Worth it to try and stabilise.

But it can be as easily caused by something on the network as I posted above.

You will have a feel if you have a general client-side or network-side problem.

We've seen posts from forumites that they must reboot many times a day, this clearly indicates a client-side issue.

Other seem to be more stable, so they can be 90% sure a 619 is on the network side.

But in all cases, a methodical and logical fault finding process helps.

Did you report the problem yesterday? Remember a mail to the Call Desk can also work.

To be fair, a lot of customers might feel that they would like a reset button that they could press to reboot the network :D - ok that isn't amusing, but I'm sure many would disagree that the problem is usually a client-side problem.

My feeling is that Vodacom needs to throw some resources at tracking down the major causes of the dreaded 619 error - I predict that Vodacom would find that the 619 problem is mostly due to signal fluctuations|changes...

I kinda of agree with ic on that one... I'd gladly host that reset button.... I kind of need one now.... been without HSDPA for 3 days now...... and yes i spent about 45mins on 155 only to end up doing stupid *** like rebooting my PC, and recreating the profiles only for it to still not work.. *shock gasp horror*... but go figure.. HSDPA refuses to connect, even though i am no more than 500 - 600m away from the tower... but GPRS works perfectly every time... oh and at the end of the wonderful conversation with whoever it was on 155 they tell me theres a problem on the network and they're fixing it now.... be nice if there was a notice board or something on vodacoms site which lists known network problems and stuff like that.... anyway...... i just want my HSDPA back, and I know its not a client issue because I've changed bugger all on my laptop, it just stopped working...

Oh another rather more difficult to implement suggestion... but a help desk where people don't automatically assume I know squat about PC's.... it drives me to drink when i get treated like i know nothing....

*end rant* sort of....

Doubt its the weather.. even though its pretty crap in my wonderful city.... Things have now changed a little bit. I can connect on HSDPA when I'm at my office.... I bring the little beauty home and try and connect and now I get an Error 31... which is just baffling me intensely.. and trying my googlefu to figure out what the hell that means is proving to be rather painful on GPRS....

Ok right... back to the good old Error 619 when trying to connect on HSDPA, and of course what makes it oh so delicious to see that error, is an sms I have sitting in the inbox on VMC stating that vodacom have resolved the internet connection issue I sent through to them.... I'm wondering if I should send through a reply stating that I would like to be consulted before they close issues like that because I obviously can't connect and nobody even contacted me about anything.....

hmmm.....
