Has anyone tried it yet? I see it is about 7 mb download.

Does it run in your normal installation as a separate executable or does it need to use its own data folder etc.?

does the 64 client optimize for more cpu cores and gpu's aka higher fps with a monster pc?

if it does not , i see no use for it, getting stupid that i buy high end pc , but fps is so low on wow :(

technically the only difference a 64bit exe will make is, it will be capable to use more memory instead of the limit imposed by being 32bit, which is 4gb memory.

practically however, that could make a bigger difference.

Now as for how many cores wow uses, the 32bit version was already able to use up to 8, however if you have a 4core HT cpu, its a bad idea to do that, instead its better to set your config up to use the 4 physical cores but not touch the HT cores. Benchmarks have proven this is the best setup, for ie. the core i7 cpus.
This can be set using SET processAffinityMask "" in config.wtf. Read

i will try that again, sure i tried and did not make a diffrence , just need that few extra fps , sometimes dips below 25 fps on deathwing etc

Alright I used this URL for the client: http://us.media.battle.net.edgesuite.net/downloads/wow-installers/live/WoWLive-64-Win-15211.zip
Was only 7.2mbyte.

And as of this morning it seems to work. I personally don't see any difference in performance, then again that is exactly what I expected. I believe when I enter an area that needs to load a lot of models, the game will now at least have access up to my 8gbyte memory.

Did you just copy it into your current installation folder?

You download 7mb file, extract it to your current installation. the launcher will pick it up and run the 64bit version.

Tried it but does not run in 64bit it says incorrect version but if i tick 32bit I can log in so clearly there is some conflict or issue since the download is from US?

Is there one for EU?

You use the same client for EU as for US. The link I have above works on EU servers for me. However it required a restart of the servers on Wednesday evening, so should work today.

Strange tried it again last night and then started working!

Loading the game etc goes much faster :)

Not sure if using the 64bit client will help your fps.

My fps used to be around 25 as well. I bought a new graphics card (ati 6770) for swtor and now my fps in wow is 60. On deathwing it's never goes below 50.

There were problems with the EU 64bit client. I have since gone back to 32 bit. Seems some addons dont like the 64bit client.
