so... i finnaly made the switch from xp32 to xp64, after google and two i learn that xp32 can only address 4G ram in total that includes all things with memory in your computer such as graphics card with say 256meg on it.

this all now from just seeing 3.25G in windows xp.

i must say the whole 64b thing allot better when it was innitially launched - all my games so far seem to work better and faster must be the more memory addressing or hehe i am seeing things, Crysis 64 though i can see and feel the difference.

-so any other people out there thats 64B and game ?

I personally don't see a difference between the Windows Vista Ultimate x86 version and the x64 one...

Striker Extreme, Q6600, 2GB Corsair TwinX DDR2-800, 8800GT 512MB, 960GB Seagate SATAII, 1250GB Western Digital SATAII, 500W Thermaltake, 226BW 22", G5, G15

with more that 3GB's of physical ram there will be a difference as the os can now actually adress all the ram obviously a 64bit game would show it more though, otherwise with just 2GB - theres not much of a difference if any at all.

I never said I used it on this computer, did I? :p I'm actually using Windows XP on my main computer ;)

*lifts up a hand*
Been runningg XP x64 on my system for a little while, so far so good.

Core 2 Quad Q6600
6GB DDR2-800 RAM
8800GTX

I love running Vista 64bit.

For me the extra 2gig ram does make a difference when playing games. Every game so far runs smoother.

wow 64Bit vista + sp1 == allot better gaming than 32vista...

...really looks like crysis64 for example allot better than xp64 and rest of 32 windows clones.

-though vista 64's service pack was 800mbs !

I have tried 64bit xp and vista none of the games i tested on it worked :( gives me error about 32bit platform required.so yea i can not recommend it.

you must be doing something wrong.

i have a dual boot xp32/xp64 and games work fine on both.
in fact some games i dont even have to re-install on both os's, just run the exe. (ghost recon)

With witcher on vista 32 bit it crashed every 5 hours for me even with the memory hot fix installed. Switched to vista x64 and haven't had 1 crash since.

Now I play all my games on vista x64. All games have the same performance or better than what I had under x86.

Vista x64 service pack 1 is 750mb for those who asked.
