I've received many complaints from members of this forum trying to have discussions and getting their problems resolved only to have their threads diluted by users unhappy about the 64kbps free uncapped service coming to an end. These posts will be moved into this thread.

Clarification of the new bundles and Value Added Services can be found here.

let me understand this correctly, those of us who had the soft cap of 64k will now have to upgrade to a package that supports the 64k throttle and pay the add on charge to go
back to a service that we initially signed up for.......I remember Jannie saying the if we where not happy after the 3 months period we can go back to our "old" packages.

Was Jannie lying.....?

Yes , he LIED ...

There I was thinking that Iburst was turning around when Jannie took the reins from Knott-Craig.
Guess I was wrong...

By taking away the 64kbps service, iBurst has been saved.

The 1% that were using 64kbps service were breaking/raping the interwebz.

iBurst could not lower their prices, without sacrificing the 64kbps service.

Thank goodness iBurst were smart enough to come up with a plan.

*Sarcasm*

considering the damage done to Iburst image and the questionable integrity of Jannie...it would have been cheaper for Iburst to keep the few power users on the 64k service happy by not removing it...or charging for it.....

A CEO that doesnt understand word-of-mouth ... ignorance is bliss ?

When last has Jannie responded to any post on this BB...?

Maybe Jannie is using iBurst too. That would explain is absence sine the package migration. He must be migrating to a better ISP too.

Hahahahaha or he has been posting as diegoa all along as we suspect :P

Good service is going to make the difference in the SA Internet market at the end of the day, because all the products are running on basically the same infrastructure. You have to compete with price or service. iWorst has neither since they raised their package prices by ~140% then had the cheek to market it as a price decrease.

So someone from iburst mailed me back saying that I just needed to tell them when to activate the service. I sent the mail yesterday morning saying that I would like the service activated immediately.

I have not yet gotten a mail that it has been activated and I don't know if I will be getting one. Do I need to wait more for a mail or do I need to contact Iburst again to find out if it has been activated?

I emailed them in January to cancel my iWorst account so I won't be on the new ridiculous packages. Received a reply about 2 weeks ago telling me they lost the email I have to resend it, so I did. Then they informed me that I have now given 1 month's notice, because my previous email doesn't count. This despite the fact that it is clearly dated and they have received it.

Are you really certain that you want to use iBurst? Do you really have no other alternative in your area?

Yes, I do have:
*ADSL (actual up to 600kbits), regular line steals.
*Neotel (actual 300kbits)... They went too late in my area.
*WiMAX. Pricey.
*HDSPA. Pricey.

Its better bad service than no service.

Any other questions?

How do you calculate that the price was raised by 140%?

I dont think so, if you ever took to read my posts to Shaun Green last year on these forums about problems...

Dusk has the integrity of our politicians. He has made wide ranging claims about other people posts but does not subject that same scrutiny to his own diatribe. Prove that diegoa is jannie (or else stop posting the accusation).

I dont beleive he is Jannie, but I do think he has a vested interest.

I feel the same way as Dusk.
I did not appreciate the way the lie was told when there was the huge furor and Jannie personally said that we would be able to go back to the old packages in order to quieten down the chaos. At the time he did not specify that the statement only applied to long term contarct holders. It then turn out that there was a massive u-turn on this and only Current long term contracts would be honored and the short term contracts can go f... themselves.

It was because of this that I cancelled mine and became a product/supplier assassin.
It is easier to keep a person happy than repair the damage after a person becomes unhappy.

I have also seen some posts from Iburst people that insinuate they are either doing deep packet analysis or actively watching their proxy logs and seeing where people browse. Interesting from a legal pov as that is only supposed to be done as per a court order. So please do not mention ethics.......

So an ISP cannot monitor the traffic on their network in order to provide a better quality of service?
