3D holograms will present gestures and facial expressions through a holographic display, the company explained.

The content to be displayed is obtained through real-time capture, transmission, and 3D rendering techniques, said Samsung.

This requires extremely high data rate transmission, it explained, which is “hundreds of times greater than current 5G systems.”

Don't quite understand this.

Presumably the capture of physical object data is similar to what's captured during normal video capture (maybe some extra depth stuff but ok...). So where's all this extra bandwidth requirement coming from? The rendering and presentation of the hologram is being done by the device receiving the video-like data, it's not the data itself that's doing the heavy lifting.
