7.1 virtual surround issue

Hi there

I have this headset http://steelseries.com/products/audio/steelseries-siberia-v2-usb.

My issue is that I can't seem to get the 7.1 audio to work. Does any one know how to setup the sound card to do virtual 7.1. There is a button that says 7.1 virtual speaker shifter but i been playing black ops and it doesn't work at all. I also tried putting my sound in windows to 7.1 and it doesn't work. I am about to give up on this and buy a new headset but first want to know if it can be fixed.

I did a google search and found nothing
 
This is why I prefer good quality stereo headphones with 3D emulation from the sound card (eg. Asus Xonar DX/ST/STX).

First make sure that you set your USB headphones as the main audio output device. To do that, right-click the Volume Control icon in the task bar, and click on Playback devices, and then you can set it as the Default device.
Then select the USB headphones playback device, and click the Configure button and then configure it as 7.1 Surround.

Black Ops and BF:BC2's 3D sound is really amazing with the Sennheiser HD555 + Asus Xonar DX combination (with the 3D emulation switched on).
 
yeah black ops does support it, works 100% with my g35s

edit noob question.

you did buy the one with the 7.1 usb attachment?

they mention it in the review.

Even further down the cable, if you happen to have purchased the Siberia V2 model that is $20 bucks more than the other listed V2s you also should have a 7.1 USB sound card.

I did set it as default playback device but still no 7.1 I did set my black ops on 7.1 but no dice. Doesn't work

I also own a asus xonar d1

Are these headphones any good? Im looking at a new pair and was wondering how these are?
