Morning peeps,

I'm gonna sell my son's 7850 Crossfire config to get one powerful card.
I was thinking getting a 4GB card.

GTX970,powerful but old
GTX1050Ti,only has 128bit rate as to GTX 970 256bit rate,,also not power hungry
GTX1060 3GB,Heard it compares to GTX970.

Your thoughts please.......

128bit card is nothing to smirk about, midrange cards actually offer good value for money, pending of course the screen res doesn't go above 1080P, while 128bit cards are shorter term cards they are a far cry from yester years heavy penalized cards.

4GB memory is really the min you should consider, RX560 can be had quite cheaply and you can consider crossfire again without needing to break the bank and have a small power station on hand.If you want to get Nvidia wait another month for prices to come down slightly....then go for the 1070GTX.

I run an i5-2500K, 16GB DDR3-1600 and a 970. Haven't yet encountered anything I can't play. CSGO averages 200-300 FPS, PUBG is 100+.

This is at 1080P.

DrJohnZOid, 3470 CPU...10gb ddr3 1600mhz ram...Games played atm assasins creed origins...forza hor 3,forza ms 7(which is causing grey/white artifacts hence the upgrade and no other game is doing it.),injustice 2,cod ww2,FC5.

He is playing @ 1080P

For his other card that I want to get.

I'm selling his 2 x7850's for 2k and want to get him a single GPU.

1k for a card, wishful thinking at best, there has been 6 odd new releases since the 7850 had been released in 2012.Your are looking at most R500.00 at card, sorry the cards are really old the likelihood that it wouldn't last much longer any ways it's already past general life expectancy.

The 7850 lies between the GTX 1030 and the 1050, being about 70% of the performance of the 1050.
Wizard saying you shouldn't be able to get R1k might be right depending, would say you should be able to get it though.

Why the upgrade though? Stuttering in games? Look at carbonite for some second hand cards, e.g. https://carbonite.co.za/index.php?threads/zotac-gtx-1050ti-4gb-mini.208380/ if it falls through.
Slight stretch: https://carbonite.co.za/index.php?threads/msi-gtx-1060-3g-ocv2-dual-fan.206578/ (no rating though)

You're in East London, so might be difficult to find someone local so you can go inspect though.

Apparently he is selling it for that price on carb and some one is interested already. I wouldn't touch those cards with a 10 foot pole because of age and there being a lot of better cards can be had.Mining seriously screwed up the market places in recent times

That is worrying, you need to test the cards and get a clean bill of health, before selling them on carb, because it might end up biting you in the backside.

I did test them both of them and they run fine.
It was just with Forza MS7 and Injustice 2 that it started to stutter and show glitches/artifact.

Haven't even OC'ed the cards...so when this issue popped up I decided while the cards served and still serves me good I can maybe sell them to a good home.

It's not that there is something wrong with them.

At R1k, they're perfectly well priced for their performance. 70% of a 1050 performance, R1k is fine.

@Serene only in those two games? And by glitching/artifacts you mean due to low fps? Just make sure seller is aware, and all should be fine. Those cards are quite nice actually.

How much did you say you want to spend, just the R2000 from selling the cards?
