I just held one today. Wow! The viewfinder is big! I don't have my film Rebel with me, but it feels almost as big. I just looked it up: 100% coverage with 1x magnification. I think I want one :)

I think I also want one, but there's nothing wrong with my 40d :(

You insured your 50D right . . ;)

If you pack your 40D into the box and ship it off to me, you have a good excuse to buy a 7D :)

I was so excited by the large viewfinder, I completely forgot to take the new AF for a spin

Still, I'm hoping Canon shoves a FF sensor into the 7D body and make that available with no other changes or omissions (except, naturally, a slower frame rate). Now that would make me drop the 50D like a hot potato...

I like the sound of the Transmissive LCD Screen - although reading about it made me remember I need a new focusing screen, I'm really not that keen on the one that shipped with my camera.

The paltry frame rate is a deal breaker for me . . . :p

It would be a nice backup/video camera to have but most of the features are bound to trickle down to the consumer level price range sooner or later and then it will be even more attractive to me.

I bought it last week I think one of the first ones to reach SA :)

Took my first pics today inspite of the weather, busy analysing the pics but they do look mighty fine hehe.

Its a nice backup to my 5DII and I plan to use it mostly for action and outdoor use.
