Anyone know where one can still buy the game cartridges, in CTN specifically? I feel like going a bit retro and unpacking that old dusty console. Only problem is I don't have any cartridges for some reason....

Because playing these things on a pc is not the same as playing them on a tv, using the remotes of old...

In fact, I already have most of the meme's, but play is dull using mouse and keyboard, and being able to only play one at a time

Check out your local indian shop....been seeing those games for R5-R10 in PTA all the time

There is a big Chinese shop in Shoprite Park in Parow that sell a lot of the cartridges.

Oooohhh... console retrogaming...

was lovely playing some of that stuff.... :D

It was yes...that's the reason I'm looking to find some games. The Asian store idea souns like the best one. Will pop down there this afternoon after work!

About 4 years ago I got nostalgic and decided to play a few of those games. Thing is, I'd lost or given away my console and games and had to buy (!) a new console at R230.00 (Rand Show).

My brothers friends just gave me all the cartridges they still had left. Tetris is da bomb ...

I actually saw Game selling these in Tygervalley Cape Town yesterday :)

get yourself an old xbox the original, it work as a good emulator where you can
copy your roms onto work perfectly.

With mame you can play two players, even on the keyboard.

If you really like the "remote" thing, get yourself a pair of cheap gamepads. Will be the same as playing on your console. Added bonus is you will find a lot more roms out there then the cartridges!

Boksburg (close to east rand mall i think) has a huge ass flea market. If you don't find it there, you wont find it anywhere... Off topic a bit, but does anyone know of stores with a wide variety of ORIGINAL PS2 games besides BT Games, AWX and look and listen?

There was a link on Newshost where you could download every single NES ROM ever released (about 8800 ROM's). It was around 340MB compressed and work great with NEStopia emulator.

I can upload to UUNET if anybody wants it.
