The DA were previously very vocal about ANC-led name changes and how much they cost the country. Now that they are in charge, they are doing the very same thing.

What's wrong with Vanguard or Lansdowne? Smuts, even?

Zille responds quickly to the off-the-cuff quips and jokes, but when she has to think about policy, she often just ignores the questions.

Native Yard was just a generic term the planners gave these locations. Do you have objections to the word 'native'?
 
People ask me in the street for new named streets here in durbs ....cant fecking help them gotta use my fekking GPS in my own town with this name change shyt :mad:

The others might have a political connection but it is part of South Africa's collective history.

Noo, not Jip de Jager. I have fond memories from my childhood when my mom and I used drive down that road, bobbing our heads going "Jip de Jager, Jip de Jager, Jip de Jager" Building up until you drive under the N1 bridge and then hooting. :)

The fact that there is no info available means he was a nobody who the Nats thought was a somebody.

I was about to say the same thing about Gert van Rooyen drive. The first time I saw that I was like WTF??? I am eagerly awaiting to hear what the DA says their reason is for this because changing a name of a street or town or city is so stupid and unneccasary, nevermind the amount of money its costs which could have been spent doing something usefull!
