808 MTN Number not working

Guys i 808 for than 100 times june/july i never waited more than 10min at most...press 110 when the blah' blah IVR starts,you wil now be queing for the next available op...

10 MINUTES?????????????? FFS!!!!!!!!!!! How long do they wait before they block your line if you don't pay?
 
In the past month I have been listening to that annoying tune for over 60 hours. The wait time varies between 10 min and 2 hours. Early in the morning you got a shorter wait - but just wait until after lunch ---- SCREAM!!!

u cant get through to a agent to speak to. it says to speak too an agent press 0, u push 0 then an electronic voice says u must dial 808. which i did.
 
Fail.

As soon as my contract expires Im going back to Vodacom.
I keep on loosing signal, getting 'inactive sim' errors, dropped calls, etc.
Maybe it's because I have a 072 number ported to mtn, but still, it shouldn't be that bad.
 
Just one of the many reasons why I cancelled my 3G contract after the 24months. My record for getting a consultant to answer during 4 calls in October was 24 minutes. The other 3 calls was answered in just over 40 minutes.

Trust me, I always sticked with MTN because people were complaining about Telkom and the ADSL service, but dealing with Telkom feels like heaven compared to MTN. I can actually not wait for my normal Cell contract to expire, then I am over to Pay-as-you-go after 15years of being on a MTN contract.
 
The heading for this thread is incorrect... It shouldn't be "Sort out the 808 number.". It should be "Sort out MTN."
 
Not sure if it is Telkom or MTN's fault: I tried to call 808 (actually 0831808) from overseas using a Telkom Worldcall card. I kept getting "number does not exist" errors. So I called 083173 and asked th consultant to put me through to 808. That then gave me also the "please dial 0 and then please dial 808" runaround. Tried several times and eventually got through.
 
ye, it seems as though theres no runaround anymore, u just stay on hold for hours listening to wat they can offer u over and over again.

i dont think anybody works at MTN.
 
can anyone get thru on a landline to 083 808? this is the second month i've tried to query my bill. after 40 minutes on their automated 808 roundabout i complained on hellopeter - Sibonile responded a week later advising me to phone 808 and query my account! if i wasn't laughing i'd be crying. i suggested hellopeter remove them as a company who responds because they're a week behind and their responses are pathetic - apparently "Paul" from MTN has apologised and says they're making every effort to improve their service - hurry up already.
