Hi There. I am looking at the following hybrid system, and am looking for suggestions, recommendations or reviews please

- Fivestar 8.5kVA Smart Inverter (8 year warranty)
- 8x450w mono solar panels (20 year warranty)
- 10kW Lithium Battery - 48v 200ah Narada Battery (10 year warranty)

I have been quoted R75k including install and CoC and was wondering if this is a good price, and whether the kit above good, or is there something to watch out for?

thanks in advance

I am interested to see the feedback, looking at a 8kW SunSynk system myself for when we move to our new house but R75k is stupidly cheap from my limited experience.

The price for one, seems scammy. We also need more details on the battery.
The inverter seems to retail for 10K, any reason why you didn't consider dropping 20k more on a decent platform like a Sunsynk?

At that price, with labour and CoC
Calling shenanigans
Even with a 0.2C battery and used panels

thanks @RonSwanson
i dont have any reason or preference, and my notion is that this is a massive expenditure, and i am looking for a reputable, hassle-free, no nonsense system that can do the do. I appreciate the feedback, as i did not have any ballpark or baselines until now.

You are right, it is a large expenditure, that's why you should consider getting quality. Nothing wrong with an Axpert-type, as long as it is well supported and you like fiddling a lot. I am not sure about FiveStar's support, but if I went for an axpert-type, I would choose something reputable like the original Voltronic or Kodak.

Those three adjectives of yours should indicate Sunsynk or Luxpower.

@RonSwanson , thanks again.

do you have any recommendations on a turn-key provider? someone who can do the installation and provide a CoC?

I can recommend Powerforumstore, they supply kit and have installers which they can recommend. You might have to wait a bit, but it is worthwhile, as you yourself have said, it is a lot of money to spend, so you want to do it properly.

Considering I have never heard of any of those and the price quoted is ridiculously low I would be concerned if it's real in the first place (not a scam), secondly I would seriously question that inverter warranty being more than all most name brands and even if that is all good I would seriously wonder about the workmanship and CoC being legit.

The install is about R15k, leaving you with R60k.

8 panels is about R30k, leaving you with R30k.

That means you're getting an inverter and 10 kWh battery for R30k. This is the core of your system and at that price I'd be surprised if it didn't go up in smoke in the first month.

Get a proper system with known components, even if it means you have to finance it...
