Couldn't seem to find an answer to this and can't seem to get through...

Anyone know whether the ZTE MF668 works with 8ta? Had issues getting MTN sim working previously.

(Obviously looking to avoid going out to buy an 8ta SIM to test)

I don't see why it shouldn't work. I am using the same modem (in the form of the Vodacom K4505-Z) with my 8ta sim. I don't use the 8ta Connection Manager, I use either MDMA or ZTE Join Air).

So, took the plunge and got it, 10GB promo works like a charm in the MF668!

I see 8ta only has a Connection Manager dash for huawei modems.
I have a ZTE MF668 CellC branded "speedstick" and a ZTE K3805-z Vodafone branded modem

Does the 8ta Connection Manager recognise these devices at all?

I'm thinking of going the 10GigsBig route in March when my last CellC prepaid packet dies away, and want to know ahead of time I will be able to use my existing hardware

Hi Ferryman

I have a ZTE MF668 CellC branded speedstick and my data bundle is expiring in a few days time. CellC rates seem to be exorbitant so I'm considering the 8ta promo option. Can you confirm if you've experienced any problems? And secondly, any concerns over the network coverage and speed?
Tnks in advance.

Hi ferryman!

If your default connection settings are:
APN: internet
Proxy: <Not Set>
Port: <Not Set>
Username: <Not Set>
Password: <Not Set>
Server: <Not Set>
Authentication Type: PAP
Type APN: default

Then you should be able to connect without even installing the dashboard.

We do not have any of these modems to test with so we are unable to replicate your situation in order advise further.

The 8ta SIM works like a bomb in the CellC stick, speed on 8ta is a bit lower but I can't say I've had any real issues. SpeedTest.net registers around 3.8Mbps down and 1.2Mbps up for me roughly.

Thanks for the feedback. Greatly appreciated
