Guys, I got this modem (Flycard 3.75G is what it says when plugged in) from my father-in-law. He told me the thing doesn't read the sim.
So I think, maybe its network locked or something. Took it home and plugged in an old vodacom sim and what do you know, it works!
So I run off to the mall to get an 8ta sim (bloody agent wasted my time with this rica nonsense) and I pop in to Edgars to get R150 airtime because I want to convert it to the R149 special they've got going.
So I first put the sim in the phone, load the airtime and call 180 to get my internet activated. By the way wtf is wrong with 8ta not wanting to activate your internet if you live in an area with no coverage? What if i want to use it while i'm tarvelling (which coincidentally is what I want to use it for). I had to lie to get them to activate it. Its nice that they advise you that you're not covered, but don't dictate to me you mofos!
Anyway, back on topic. When I put the sim in and plugged the thing in it tells me "No (u)sim found".
Anybody know whats going on here?
