Got a Acer Travelmate 8172 with 3G. If I use a MTN sim card the custom Acer 3G software connects. If I insert the 8ta card it keeps giving me errors. On the main panel it shows MTN-SA. It gives me an option to select network and there I can only see 8ta and Telkom as providers. If I do a search for available networks it shows MTN and 8ta and shows currently used. Any help will be appreciated as I want to get 8ta prepaid data as they are the cheapest at the moment.
This won't be used as my main connection as I have adsl at home. Only want to use when traveling.
