For what it's worth. I got the 10 gig promo but I'm using my old MTN E170 usb. I downloaded the mobile partner from Huawei but it did not work. No signal. Then I downloaded the 8ta one from their website and I can connect no problem.

One question though. Does anyone know how I can 'format' the mtn stick so I can get their info of it. When i plug it in is still says that the f-drive is mtn fastlink and the stupid autorun wants to install the mtn software? It does not allow you to delete the files.

Similar problem with a Vodacom K3805 USB modem
Can connect with 8ta provided software, but cannot send USSD pings to 8ta
Cant seem to copy any file to the Vodacom USB stick as it sais it is marked read only and files cannot be copied or deleted
Any ideas how to get the Vodacom USB stick USSD command friendly

I'll try. It does not allow you to make any changes to the stick.
