I think the 9600GT scales a bit better, due to your large screen, I guess it'll be running at a large resolution, so the 512mb of 256-bit will be better.
So IMO, the 9600GT.

Thanks.

I just needed one opinion.

piesang you should get a bigger card if you plan on gaming man

at your monitor's native res its really going to struggle and your going to have sacrifice quality because of the high res your running

i would not go less than a 9800gtx if you can afford it or a 9800gx2 if you can afford it

depending on your budget of course :)

The 8800GT is good. The 8800GTX is good. The 8800 is good. The 8800GS is not good. A "GS" screen card is a deflated GT/similar. This is the same with the BMW325i and 323i -- same engine, the 323i just pumps out less kilowatts...

So if you only have those two choices, go for the 9600GT.

9600GT All the way 8800GS is a weaker version of the 8800GT

9600GT 512Mb/256bit
8800GS 384mb/192bit

It's a no brainer :D

If you are still unsure of which one to buy you should sell your PC and forget about ever using anything faster than a P1 60MHz with $indows #.!

I wouldn't say that, it's a bit harsh :p I know that I always take recommendations on forums with a grain of salt in any case ;) In the end it's still their choice.

Cool, so I got myself the 9600GT 256bit 512MB GDDR3.

My previous card, the 8600GT 128bit 1024MB GDDR2 gave me a Vista Performance Rating of 4.1 and 5.2.

The 9600 is 5.9 and 5.9.

Will check out the gaming graphics tomorrow morning. Cant do it now because we have load shedding now.

Please don't rely on Vista for any indication of the improvement!

Awesome! How much did you pay?

You mean R2000?

on the dot?

Nope, R200.00 on the dot.

If you know how to do business and you purchase a few things for other people then you can get yours for much cheaper.;)
