It's good that these types of experiments are being carried out in isolated cities like Ontario, where we can study the effects and they can be reversed if they don't work. Of course, if they do work Arthur and Drunkard will be here dutifully explaining how Ontario's specific socioeconomic environment is completely unlike South Africa or anywhere else in the world and it definitely should not be exported.
Personally I'm all for it. The welfare system is so convoluted and exploitable that it must be simpler just to replace it all with a standard amount of basic income. Plus with so many jobs being taken over by robots, it's created huge wealth without any trickle down to the lower parts of society. When I was younger I could definitely have used a basic income to grant me more time to further my studies before jumping into the workforce.
