Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

I'm starting to work this Feb and was wondering if it would intervene or decrease the performance of the work i do.I simply answer phones, look up data and update the stock on the computer. Is there anything i can do to cope with it or will it not be a problem with the work i do?

Thanks in Adv.

I am a qualified teacher and work with children with A.D.H.D they get distracted allot and cant focus just on one task but try and do five at once and then dont even complete one because they cant concentrate long enough. There are two types of medication for ADHD you get concerta: http://www.concerta.net/adult/adult-index.html which is the generic to Ritalin: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methylphenidate now there is allot of speculation about ritalin being addictive etc but not just my teaching years but my parents aswell have they never come accross any children or adults who have had an addiction to ritalin or even overdosed on either.

as you get older you should learning coping mechanisms to deal with ADD/ADHD adults shouldn't need to take Ritalin

Silly statement Tpex.
You have just voided my opinion and judged it as invalid based on your ignorance.
ADHD is more than just not being able to concentrate.

GIYF but you have forced my hand to wikiwhack you! :D

sorry Kage its more my opinion, I was "diagnosed" with ADD (which turned out to BS) and my little bro is ADHD so what I say about this topic is what I have picked from these events.
mainly its not a disorder, its a different way the brain functions, its a pity our world will not adapt to this, and personally I don't support chronic medication

I have come to realise a long time ago that some people need medication.
It is a fact. I am one of those people.
The problem comes in with the stigma that people associate with medication, chronic or otherwise.

thanks for the advice and sorry for the late response,i'm taking Ritalin everyday like Kage suggested and it seems to be working.

If you have ADHD, Ritalin will help you keep that job. If you have ADHD Ritalin will help you significantly with work.

Didn't they say Ritalin is linked to future drug abusers?

Oh yes.
There is also a study that links men that adopt a typically aggresive and masculine name such as "marine" to a lack in penis size.
