Good day...

I am looking for a GPU...

I currently have GTX galaxy 460

What would be a decent upgrade?

Price range.. Say somewhere around R1500-2000...

Another thing is... If Nvidia is good or AMD...

Thanks

You'll need to bump up the budget a bit if you want some kind of meaningful performance boost. For now, the GTX460 is still a good card.

Lets talk again when you have enough money for a GTX660 Ti or HD7950 ;-)

Lets please not start this again, there is a whole thread dedicated to this argument. What ever is the best card you can get for your budget, unless you are a fanboy that is then go with what ever brand you like.

Your options:
AMD: HD7770 / HD7850 (R2600)

Can't find a HD7770 in stock unfortunately.

Try to get a 2GB one for R2000+-

Nvidia: GTX 650 TI / GTX 660 (R2600)

PNY GTX650 Ti XLR8, 1GB 128bit

GTX 650 TI vs HD7770 - Anandtech
GTX 650 TI vs HD7770 - Hwcompare

GTX 460 vs GTX650TI

+1 460's can still handle most new games.
Playing far cry 3 on High @ 1920x 1080 with 45+ FPS.

OK..

Thanks..

I was just wondering.. if nowdays there is a stronger GPU.. EG if Nvidia is better or AMD.. like a clear difference.. but guess not :D

Thanks anyway, I'll probably stick to this untill I really need a upgrade :D

:D

But.. people are somewhat saying..

I should rather wait untill my card is really out-dated..

mm.. so I'll upgrade something else :D

I do already have a SSD... But... It's a 96GB... Which i think is fine :

Ram... m.. also have enough ram and all 1333

maybe you should post you pc's components list. that might help to give a bigger picture and you might get some REAL advice.

A GTX460 is still strong enough to play Far Cry 3 at high settings and 1080p resolution. OP doesn't need to upgrade yet, and in any case waiting for AMD's Oland or Nvidia's Kepler 2.0 family is going to be more worthwhile. What more real advice would you want?

Ok cool

Actually just got Far Cry 3... and... played it on Dx 11... and the thing is.. When there is a cut sence.... the person talking lags after a while.. like the voice would go.. and then the persons mouth would move O.o

So.. don't know what's happening there..

And it did that for AC 3 too...

will lowering the graphics help?

THanks

Sounds weird because that's usually just plain video playback but I could be wrong.

Rectron has the GTX 650 1gb for R1299 & the 2gb for R1599 (both excl VAT) both OC versions. Only problem is, they're closed till mid Jan.

model: GV-N650OC-1GI & GV-N650OC-2GI
