So for a while now I am using my phone and google maps for navigation. Works quite well, just a few things.

I need a holder of some kind to hold the phone while navigating. I did buy a holder which holds the phone, and clips onto the air vents, but on both my vehicles it doesnt work, because of the dash design. Any ideas on what product works well?

Then the phone sound is not that good, so I connected it to the car sound system via bluetooth, and tuned the system to bluetooth audio. The downside is that now I cant have radio on while navigating, and my car system fades in the sound, then I only hear half the navigation voice. So I thought of getting a bluetooth speaker of some sorts, small but just to amplify the navigation, and be able to tune in to radio. Will this work?

Thanks a million!

You can get holders that connect to your windscreen.

Also you can play music through phone while maps is open.

Although do you really need the map sounds? I disable the sounds on maps immediately.

With a Q3 and a new Hilux you'll need a hat and dark glasses to get into CC.....

The more time you spend looking at the road instead of a phone the better.

Not when you get multiple turn offs/roads in close proximity. If you rely only on voice you'll take the wrong turn off. No thanks.

I hate the plastic cradles - so bulky and fugly. I use these magnets - you can't see anything supporting the phone, almost floats on the dash. Secure, quick to attach and remove the phone. I usually order a few every time I place an order with GearBest in China. They probably have them at your local Chinese shop. They sell for about $ 2.00 each

You own a Audi so we can assume you're able to afford a dedicated premium car satnav with built-in SIM card for live traffic for R4400. All your problems solved: no need to pair with your phone, no clash with car audio, good solid cradle included. Job done.

Do you have something against people who drive luxury vehicles?
