A good 10.1 tablet??

LOL ok guys. appreciate it.. but i realllllyyy dont want to sit and teach my mother IOS.. honestly ill go insane:eek:

By far the best value for money for tablets right now are the Amazon fire HD range. Subsidized by the adds when the screen saver is on. If you want the add free version it gets expensive like the Samsung's. We have 3 in the house now and they are great.

But you have to side load Google play store on the Amazon and the screen is crap and the specs are from a few good years ago.
Got one in my drawer from last year

I actually can. IOS is by far the most elderly citizen friendly operating system.

I have to agree with this.

I gave my folks the Asus Android tablet that I won on here a few years back (thank you uncle rpm) and they had immense difficulty with it - no fault of the tablet but the interface wasn't intuitive at all, and was very confusing managing all this from the other side of the province. I think I had to help them out with some things every couple of weeks. A major update would change the UI, and some apps wouldn't update properly or the notifications would fail to appear...random things.

When that eventually failed, I gave them a second-hand iPad to use about a year ago. It's been more than an entire year and I have not had one 'service call' to have it looked at and they are happy as can be with it. All I showed them was how to download stuff from the Apple App Store and the rest they figured out by themselves. Props to Apple for making a very usable UI that can be grasped and understood in no time at all
