A good read !

True, I also say everything has their feel about each distro and each have their moments of issues and changes occuring. May not suit a few but changes are usually there due to large requests for it. Agreed aswell change rather that writing an essay. :)

I still like good old CentOS. But I just enjoy the terminal I guess as I setup servers daily and work with it. I hear Ubuntu is faster now though. May give it a try. I think it's time to do some comparison again between a few.

Why write an essay? Well that is that guy's personal blog and what he writes on there is his own choice. I personally enjoy reading other's opinions, even if I don't always agree with them.

What I like about this article, the guy laid out exactly why he didn't like Ubuntu anymore, and if other new users read this they can much more easily decide if they like those specific annoyances or not.

That said, I found myself also considering moving away from Ubuntu...but then again I am still on a minimal install + fluxbox/tint2 desktop so it doesn't bother me too much yet, though I am not sure about the new MIR window server, it is not something I am particularly happy about so that will most definitely sway me away from Ubuntu to another distribution that will go the wayland route, like most other Linux distributions.
