A little video problem

512 mb DDR333
radeon 9200se

plays 720p files without jerk...

think u gotta have a 19" at least if im not mistaken

Yeah I got a 20" wide, should've waited for the 226BW :(.

Anyway, the LCD size has sweet buggerall to do with jerky 720p. I've asked this question on another huge international forum and still couldn't get a decent response as to why my 720p files aren't playing right.

Does your card hard a DVI out? If it does, it should work as long as your monitor has an HDMI input. You'd need a DVI to HDMI adapter.

I'm using DVI right now, why would I need an HDMI adapter? :confused:

My problem is that 720p videos start stuttering after a few seconds of play and go back to normal, rinse and repeat.

Oh... hmm sorry can't help :D Thought there was a problem with your setup. Does it display the HD picture properly, just with stutters?

btw you'd need the adapter if your card only has a DVI o/p and your monitor has an HDMI i/p (or vice versa) i.e. for compatibility. I thought perhaps that's what the problem was.

Are you using an Asus motherboard?

Do you use the onboard sound?
 
Most of the time this sort of issue is caused by the sound driver in Vista. It is most common when using the onboard sound on Asus motherboards. Updated sound driver can help.

If a codec works once then it should stay ok. I think its pretty unlikely that codecs work for a short while and then just die without an error message.. but vista sound driver issues like this are quite normal :D

What sound card are you using?
