A Million Rand Loan

I know some people who will pay you to travel to parts of South America and South East Asia. PM me.

If you can realistically pay that back over 10 years you can realistically travel internationally once a year.
Rather loan what you need to study and let your subsequent income pay for your luxuries.

If you are smart you should be able to travel a year with around R250000 if you stay out of 1st World countries(where you are not going to get much life experience anyway). If you add casual work then you can bring that amount down to much less.

Around 20K a month to backpack Indian Subcontinent and South East Asia for a year can easily be done. You could probably get away with the same amount in South America. I don't see that working for North America, Europe and Africa...

You will probably need some assets to take the loan against, if you don't have anything to your name then you screwed as the risk will be too high and if anyone does give you the loan you will be working off the interest for the rest of your life. Best to work your arse off 24x7 and bank everything into the highest interest savings account you can find. I know many guys that worked 1 or 2 jobs for a year then quit and spent 6-12 months travelling the above places.

This sound riskier than swimming with loan sharks. :D

Seriously though? Do you think it matters that it is 'not just travelling'? Ask all the people who are living in shanty towns how successful they have been at getting R1M loans to study, travel, and live. It's almost a little offensive and flippant that you think someone would just love to sponsor you to have a jol and live around the world, when there are so many people in real need in this country who have real business dreams, or even simple dreams just to feed their kids and live in a formalized house. Hell, most would probably give anything to get a decent education in this country (let alone abroad).

I really hope this was a joke post...

A lighthearted post yes. Something I know would not happen, but it's a nice to have idea.

I'm not here to be prideful and disrespectful to the poor. I would love to visit Syria and the Ukraine and bring some sunshine in those hurt lives. I know I won't be able to though. There is just too much against it.

So please don't be offended at my dazed dreams. Should I be able to afford it one day, I will definitely not squander the opportunity to help someone as I'm suggesting to be helped.

A Million Rand Loan

Where could I get it?

The reason being is:
I want to travel, see a few places I've dreamed of seeing. I've never been outside S.A.
I'd like to study and increase my knowledge, whilst still being able to live due to expenses.

HAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

HA

Ha.

Yeah, must be a troll post.

You don't need nearly that much to travel, Dec 2014 - Jan 2015 I went to Europe for ~3 weeks (was my first time outside SA) total cost was a little under R40k, that included VISA application (plus the fact I had to travel to Cape Town for that) and all flights (PE->JHB->Amsterdam, Rome->Amsterdam->JHB->PE) plus train from Amsterdam to Milano, accommodation and food.

To be fair about 5 days I spent in Holland with relatives which was pretty much free, all the rest I paid for. I didn't even mention all the in Holland/Italy trains I took, or the 40 Euro Gondola ride in Venice. :p

Course if you wanna stay in fancy hotels and stuff .. then yea it would cost a lot more. But still, a million for travelling.. I could travel for years with that. :p

You can add about 30-40% to that pricing now due to a **** currency.
