A new lap top

I am doing good for myself but I think in the next 3 months I need to invest in a new lap top. I thought this would be the place to come in order to get help. I am looking to spend maybe R6500 to R7000 on one. What make should I go for and what specs should i look at? I want a dvd drive in it so i can play dvd's at least. Thanks
 
Okay great. Thanks. I will check it out tonight as i am on my cell now. Where are they based or do they actually have a store in cape town.
 
They are based in JHB but deliver country wide, i don't have any personal experience with them yet. Wonder how their service is
 
I would recommend Incredible Connection and Makro for good new laptop prices and service...

Ye but know what you want before you go there, dont fall for the salesman pitch.

Yeah, not so much any more. SOmetimes there is small print though. But you just have to know that when you go there.
 
I dont wanna be in any contract at all. Is that possible with Incredible Connection?

Yes yes.

You can buy the laptops normally just like at any other shop and the prices are really good. Trust me, I have done research into this.

MAKRO do NOT offer any ISP contracts with their laptops - the price you see is what you pay. No hidden monthly ISP costs - unless you opt for a Mobile contract with a data card and a laptop bundled. These are marked very clearly though.

ok great thanks guys but I still need to know what specs to look at because my knowledge in computers aint very good
 
yeah basically but I wanna keep a lot of photos and music on it so I will need a biggish hard drive on it. I am going to be doing pre school teaching type work, similar to what SB wants to do and will need to keep a register and stuff like that. I will basically be doing admi type work on it
