A nice sipping brandy

Laborie also has an awesome Pot Still Brandy.
Agree. One of the best ones I’ve tried. I’ve got a bottle of Boplaas brandy too, after being pleasently surprised by their Whiskey offering
Will give it another try this weekend. Was not as impressed as with Laborie

I personally did not like it - I donated the rest of it to my wife's fruit cake.

It was for a family event ( her family). Not sure about the compliments as I did not attend.

Fortunately, as with anything, taste differ. What some people regard as a good whisky/whiskey, I can not drink. Some people regard KWV10 as a sipping brandy, I prefer to add Coke. Some people like JW Blue, I add Cream Soda. Then again, I like Laphroaig, most peolpe cant even get past the smell.:D

Bertrams is also quite nice as a cheap brandy to drink neat.

KWV 10 year old is good enough for sipping.

I find Bertrams a bit too sweet for my liking.

But that's why I like it for drinking neat.

Otherwise I would drink whiskey.

With a mix (Coke) yes, it is a bit too sweet.

If talking what I can afford and actually keep in the house, then Klipdrift Gold, I much prefer it over KWV 10 years, I buy a bottle every 3 months or so.

If talking about the big guns, Van Ryn's 12 year is very very nice and the ultimate I tasted was KWV 20 year, but can imagine if I buy a bottle costing over R1K then I'll be too scared to drink it.
