It definitely suppresses dreams. Especially skunk.
Link to study please?
It could well be, after all, cannabis is a psychoactive drug.
I'm more inclined to think that it's more likely to trigger preexisting mental conditions, or affect people already predisposed to those sorts of issues.
Another way to look at it is ask whether people with mental illness perhaps self-medicate with cannabis.
The best way to test? Examine populations with cannabis usage rates that are higher than others, and compare the rate of mental illness in the general populations, and see what the result is...
Even that would not be definitive (as there are many factors involved of course), but certainly far more robust than the conclusion you have just put forward.
Well I just stated what I read a while back. I tried adding something positive to the thread instead of just breaking down other posts.Im posting from a phone with opera mini 4 so cant copy/paste links. I am well aware that studies and their results can be interpretted in various ways but was just hoping that people wouldnt get hiffy fits if I didnt state it. A quick google will show many studies stating that weed is linked to mental illness. I assumed that the op didnt know about this (why else would he ask) and go research the point himself to make up his own point.
If people get threatened by the thought that them smoking dagga in any way doesnt damage them (youre inhaling smoke, wtf do you think is gna happen) or believe it doesnt then fine.go ahead and smoke it.
cannabis does cause mental illness or rather act as a catalyst for some people. it doesn't happen to everyone but it can happen and i suppose there's no way of telling whether you could be affected or not.
So-called skunk is just stronger. Like whiskey vs cider. In theory someone who wants to get as high as possible can more easily overdo itIt definitely suppresses dreams. Especially skunk.
A lot of people say it doesn't do this to them. My guess it falls under possible side-effects, but is hardly a guaranteed consequence.*edit: I should rather say that I can remember the dreams when I wake up when I haven't smoked. I can't say if dreams stop when I smoke, but I definitely don't remember them.
You have to be careful what you read on that topic. It's not uncommon to find the anti-drug sites and newspapers all referring to one or two studies that they think back their point. Sometimes those studies don't even say what they think they do. Somewhere I recall some researchers going over a wide range of studies to look into this topic. That's probably the best way to get an idea of whether there is good backing for the belief and a reasonable indication of likely risk.A quick google will show many studies stating that weed is linked to mental illness.
I never dream.
I'm forgetful, extremely.
I reckon I'm arguably mentally ill, borderline
Jeeze I wonder wtf weed would do to me![]()
If you consume any caffeine-containing products or alcohol be aware that both of those drugs can interfere with deep sleep. And smoking tobacco can reduce the caffeine half life, so stopping smoking while continuing to use the same amount of caffeine might increase the amount of caffeine in your body. What happens is I sleep more hours but it feels like I'm not getting really deep sleep so I wake up still tired.
