Very interesting article and wonder if Jim decided to copy and paste that article for the PS3 release...easy bux, little effort...but geez doesn't it all have a familiar ring...everything Jim said i've read in editorials about the PS3 and erroneously hear on forums...expensive, powerful hardware but what, inclusion of a next-gen optical drive and media support, difficult to develop for, poor games library, etc...Even Carmacks comments were very similar to the ones he made earlier in the year....
Great post by Abev and the article in context of what is happening now, PS3 having a better exclusive library, uptake on the media front, outselling the wii in japan and 360 in the US, positive reviews, is history repeating itself, it highlights the cliche, form is temporary, class is permanent...by the end of this generation, it's gonna take a lot for the naysayers to predict doom for the PS4, even if Sony releases a brick (pun intended).
@Masasmal : You got no idea what you talking about, i own only a PS3 console (and PS2 and PSP) and can easily say i've played about 70 PS3 games this year and about 20 PSP games and about 50 PC games.....I'm pretty hardcore...i go to lans, part of a clan (leader), play games every day, recorded game play footage for the Verge and being on the Verge...and being part of the gaming community, there is not a core gamer in SA that can make me feel anything less than hardcore because i chose a single platform. You can have all 3 platforms and game 4 hours a week or own 1 and game 4 hours every day...i'm the latter and pretty hardcore...
