So I thought I'd just give a quick little review of my Wii.
I managed to get a 100W stepup/stepdown transformer for 110/120v to 220v with a fuse. Paid R230 for it at New World at Menlyn.
Setting up everything was easy. Three wires plug into the back of the Wii. Power, video/audio and sensor bar.
I didn't manage to play much last night as I had to go out. But of the little I did play...words cannot describe.
I haven't even setup my Mii yet. The controls we very sensitive, moving around the menu and stuff.
From Wii Sports I played a few rounds of tennis and few rounds of bowling, just to test.
The tennis is very accurate. And oh my word, so much fun. My aunt was visiting and while playing she was very curious about this thing. My aunt even wanted to give tennis a try, and she was very impressed. And of course...as you can see...even a 70 year old can pick up the controller and start playing. SO EASY!!! I can see the difficultly level increasing with this, with whatever level the CPU players are. I was playing level 2 and level 5 doubles. On your side you control both players on your side of the court.
Yes you will have to hold on to that remote. The harder you swing the faster the ball travels...logical. So you're gonna be swinging that arm ALOT!!
Bowling was also very easy. EXACTLY as it would be in bowling (without the weight of the ball in your hands). Although from what I did play, it was slightly easy to a strike, but again very accurate. Perhaps the difficulty will improve as I progress. If you let go of the B button when the controller is too high then you through the ball in the air and it bounce. If you roll the controller too slowly, then ball rolls slowly down the alley. If you have a pin on the edge, and you twist the Wiimote to the side, then the ball curves.
So that it for Wii Sports. I'll need to play the other games and report back at a later date.
For the standard composite cables. The graphics were actually pretty damn sharp. I'm curious as to how better the graphics will be with the component cables, which I'll need to order soon.
I haven't connected my Wii to the internet yet, or as I've said created my Mii yet. I just wanted some quick gratification. I'll sit down with the Wii and play with all the ins and outs soon.
I've ordered a bunch of games from Take2. I couldn't wait on the bidding process on eBay. I'll order other stuff from eBay, but compared to the prices on eBay, Take2 is about R50 to R100 more expensive, so not that overly priced. So hopefully be here within 2 weeks all of it will arrive. But for now it's just Wii Sports.
If you guy wanna as any questions, ask away.
Later,
