A10 + Graphics card vs i5 + Graphics card

Hey guys

I want to build a new computer. After going through parts for hours, I stumbled across something terrible. The new APU A10 Trinity processor of AMD.

My question would be:

Will an AMD A10 Trinity processor + a compatible graphics card (AMD 7series) running under "Dual Graphics" be better than an Intel i5 3450 build with a HD7850 graphics card?

I think you can only run the A10 in "Dual Graphics" mode with a HD 75 or 76 series GPU.
As to whether it will be better... who knows, is the A10 available yet?

I don't think it's available yet... But I'm wondering whether with that 75xx series if it will compete with a 78xx series plus intel...

I would suggest HD7850 +intel... you will max out just about every game available.

Indeed you will I still max out everything cept bf3 on my 6850 and I5 - 2500k

I've also read that the 7850 overclocks like an absolute monster! guys are getting a 50% core overclock :wtf:

I understand your question its just that its not available yet so no one has benchmarked it at all. With the Intel the upgrade route is simple, get new more powerful GPU when the 7850 is outdated, with the A10... hmmm it gets a little messy.

Not that i'm not tempted, i like AMD and this APU thing is pc builder's heaven! You also have to bring price in, is the A10 + dual GPU cheaper than i5 & 7850? And by how much? what performance do you get for your buck? But all of this will become clear once its available.

Your anwser is no. You're trying to make a sub-standard processor with built-in graphics and a cheap midrange HD7570 graphics card outdo the grunt of an HD7850 which has about three times the graphics computational power on its own. Not gonna happen.

Desktop Trinity also isn't due until the late third or early fourth quarter of this year. There will also be a ten-core processor for the FX series, but I don't expect that to change things much either.
