A5 jailbreak released

As long as ios doesn't allow me to quickly turn on/off wifi, 3G etc the way sbsettings does, I'll continue jailbreaking.

Notifications on ios 5 are pretty cool though. But I still use open notifier, iOS need to implement something like that.

Just finished jailbreaking my iPad 2 using the cinject tool!! Incredibly simple and effective...

Going to update a friend's ipad2 to iOS 5 later. Is the jailbreak available for windows now?

Im jealous, I shouldnt have updated to ios 5.1 beta 3, now I wanna jailbreak lol

When I enter a wifi zone my phone switches to it from 3g/edge automatically. I want it like that. What is your preferred behaviour?

Yes but that means when you're not in a wifi zone your wifi is still scanning for networks thus draining battery, no?

Also sometimes when not browsing but just using whatsapp for example, I want to use EDGE not 3G to conserve battery and it's schlep going into the settings to change that. More about convenience really.

I keep getting an error 3194 when trying to install iOS 5.0 on this iPad2. Any idea why?

I can't downgrade from 5.1 to 5.0.1 can I?

Sure you can :) Apple is still signing 5.0.1 as there is no public 5.1 release yet

you need to install 5.0.1 as the signing window for 5.0 is closed.
also check there is no "gs.apple.com" line in your hosts file. if there is, remove it and try again.

Where do I find this "hosts" file?

Edit. I'm in c:\windows\system32\drivers

Which is the hosts file?

Edit. Found the hosts file. Nothing about gs.apple.com.

Edit. I did this.

Add the following lines to the very bottom of the hosts file:
74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com
remove any other line that contains gs.apple.com

Edit. Still didn't work. Guess I have to install 5.0.1. Can't believe I downloaded the wrong one!

I wanted you to remove the line if you were in fact restoring to 5.0.1 and were still getting 3194 errors.

If you don't have SHSH blobs for 5.0 on Cydia's server then yeah, you won't be able to restore to it using that method.

Just download 5.0.1 rather.
