I've started a Steam group with the intention to provide people a place to schedule matches for games that are either dead or see very little MP activity. I've found that there are often a lot of people who want to play certain MP games, but they don't because there's either never anybody on the servers or they can't find people to play it with.

I don't expect the group to really go big, but it would be nice if I could find people to play a few of my abandoned MP games with me. I've got way too many MP games I'd like to play, but can't because there's never any locals to play it with and/or international server pings make the games unplayable.

If it takes off, we can look at having gaming nights or weekend events dedicated to playing specific games and maybe even have some small competitions in the future. Currently it's set to invite-only, but all members can invite their friends. This is just to help keep it a group for South Africans only. Obviously Namibians are also welcome to join, but I'd prefer to keep people farther away out in order to make it easier for people to find other people to play with.

Okay, we've decided to use Awesomenauts for our first group event. We'll be hosting a tournament, the size and length of which will be determined by how many people decide to sign up.

To sign up you'll need two group members, so once you have that just pop over and sign your group up in the thread.

There also seems to be a lot of interest in UT3, so that might be a future group event. We've got someone who should be able to host the server for us on a dedicated server box.
 
Hey I like the idea - got loads of suggestions and am keen to invest time and money in any games old or new that bring a good my experience dm or co-op it doesn't matter to me.
