Abnormally high CPU usage

Looking forward to what you find. Have not had an incident of that since 2016.

Used during the update process.
When last did you allow Windows update to run?
Only happens at work when connected to the work LAN?
What are your update settings? Do you allow PCs on the LAN to update from your machine or have you blocked that?
I don't know why I did it, but turns out that auto update was turned off. I turned it on and it immediately downloaded 1903.

Jesus crust, it took almost three hours to install this update!

Anyway, it seems like the CPU usage is back to normal now.

That is not an update but an upgrade. And yes there were lots of changes to incorporate.
Thanks for confirming that process is very actively in use in the update/upgrade process.
