Abortion law ruled invalid

Political garbage, religious fanaticism and (the ONLY possibly valid proviso) legalities notwithstanding, NO one without a womb even remotely has any the right/privilege of input on this ..at least until medical science finds a way to transplant a womb into a man's body/a way is found for a man to carry a zygote to term: only once that threshhold has been crossed can any man (and then, only those who have actually been through the process) weigh in with anything meaningful on the subject. As many have said before me, a woman's body and what she chooses to do with it (within the framework of the subject at hand) is fundamentally her business, and only hers ..not even any other women's.

For a start, what men just don't GET is that at the outset the very idea of aborting/erasing the very thing they are biologically built to do is straight up anathema to most women ..it's this engine that ensures the survival of the species (and keeps us (well, the rest of you) entertained with the pitter-patter of little feet ..and no shortage of baby poo- and puke). I know someone who is vehemently against the idea of being pregnant and has an IUD, just to make sure. Yet, as the Fates would have it, she got herself an ectopic pregnancy and effectively HAD to abort ..and it devastated her. So all the (loony) propaganda pushers really should keep their (XY chromosome) noses out of it.

I'm all for a womens right to choose, there is the case of danger to the pregnant mother and the case of a metally ill or deformed child (sometimes this is as serious as a child having no brain at all). But then there is also the case of an unwanted pregnancy, rape, incest or a parent who cannot afford to have a child.

What good is forcing mothers to have babies only to give them up and have them live in an orphanage or foster home without parents or family - a child should be loved without question and by forcing people to have unwanted babies you are depriving them of this.

Excellent points.

Making abortions illegal will not change the rate of abortions - it only makes more dead people - (child - and mother!)

But that seems to be gub policy - more dead people!!

Ok, maybe the solution is to somehow temporily sterilese women (sorry, wont help much if it happens to guys) when they are 8 or something, and reverse the process when they decide they want to have kids. Just an idea, a solution so there doesn't have to be a debate.

Because just imagine if your parents in a weak moment had decided to have you aborted, no you then, would have been grand hey?

What about leaving it at the status quo, providing people with access to contraception if they choose to use it. It would be a good idea to have more education surrounding it sure, make sure people are better informed, but at the end of the day people are people, not some resource that you can just sterilise or control at will.

Firstly, I'm not telling anyone what to do, if someone wants to abort a child, and the law says go for it, then I really can't do anything about it.

Some arguments here are just a bit silly.

Lets take : "If baby does not get aborted, they'll live in an orphanage..."

Instead of living at all?

Another : "The only people this affects is no-one or maybe the father"

What about the unborn baby? It surely affects him/her.

One more : "She has to take responsibility because she had to have unprotected sex..."

Yes... Take it this way, if you had a 5 year old, and you just decided to leave him on the street then you'll pretty much not live it off comfortable and some of your rights WILL get taken away from you... That makes sense.

Otherwise anarchy...

Another : "She can't afford the baby"

1. Then why did she get one?
2. Orphanage if you will, this is better than not living.

Another : "Making abortions illegal will not blah, only make it more dangerous for the women".

So we should make crack cocaine legal? This is the same logic.

The temporary sterilisation is a VERY good idea i've never come across. Also use some protection (not that this is 100%).

And i understand that females go through a lot, I understand that I will never understand through how much they go. But for me, this is little to sacrifice in comparison with destroying what might be a long happy/unhappy LIFE.

Again I'm not here to stop anyone, if the law says do it, I can't do anything about it but protest.

Note.

I'm not here to argue "choice", because doesn't matter if the choice is made or not, it is what happens after the choice. Yes I'm for choice, you can do what you want as long as it doesn't violate someone elses rights...

And for me, killing a baby violates its right to live. And going further than that, killing a baby is just that, KILLING.

We can send you to Syria for a few years of torture. You can let them know when you think you'd prefer to be dead.

What about the unborn baby? It surely affects him/her.
People who do not exist, remarkably enough, are not affected. They've proven to be extremely psychologically resilient.

No longer gestating inside another's body provides legal status.

Quite right. And excellent logic it is too.

So good of you to make this decision on another's behalf. I don't think it is much of a sacrifice for you to give all your money and home to a homeless person.

The baby is welcome to leave and make its own way in the world anytime it chooses.

Maybe the solution is to sterilise men.

How would you be feeling today if you had been aborted?
What about all those potential parents who decide not to have children? What about all those people who just stay single?

All those poor psychologically damaged children. The suffering they must be feeling from never getting to be born.

That's the most pathetic bit of arguing I've ever seen ... aborting a baby is killing a very much existing life.

Obviously you do not believe in any form of after life? Based on that and using your logic if someone killed you, you would cease to exist and therefore the murderer should be left alone - after all you're not negatively affected by being dead... In that case what's wrong with bumping off an annoying neighbour??

Survival of the fittest eh? That's harsh... but in that case why should we bother to help weaker fellow human beings? Let them all rot! If they can't survive on their own then tough luck!

Abortion is murder. End of story.

In ancient roman times it was also considered the right of parents to dispose of an unwanted baby - they just dropped them in the gutter's. This was seen (by their warped minds) as perfectly acceptable... would anyone approve of this today? And yet abortion is essentialy no different.

Yeah, well thought through there huh?

Of course the species needs to propagate, using your suggestion one man can decide to get unsterilised to get a baby with his wife, and then sleep with his secretary , his sister and girl next door and give them all unwanted babies before he gets resterilised. Thus, unfortunately, it is not a possibly effective/workable solution...

Bottom line: how can a bunch of men argue about abortion? WTF do we know?

Then he ends up with several children under your regime.

As I said, sterilise men, they're apparently the ones bed-hopping.

Up to a point it is just a bunch of cells. End of story.

I only believe in things that are real. Like the Easter Bunny.

The solution is simple - we ban abortion and have higher taxes for those who are anti-choice. They'll be more than happy to contribute to saving (potential) lives.
